The Young politician 

Pemphero Mphande contested for Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South under Umodzi Party in 2019. At 26 he was one of the youngest contestants.

In 2017, he was appointed as the Public Relations Officer of Umodzi Party where also won at the party’s 2018 convention as the National Youth Director. He resigned in from the role in 2019 after elections.

From 2017 to 2019 he led a youth movement where he gave speeches at youth gatherings at Chancellor College, in Mzuzu, Blantyre and Lilongwe.

Currently Pemphero Mphande while having supported Tonse Alliance to victory in the June 2020 elections, he identifies as an independent.

He plans to contest for MP again in 2024 and presidency in 2029.
